About This Workshop

This is a hinakazari (doll display) kit used in children's workshops hosted by AEON Fantasy. It features a simple structure that can be assembled using only mountain and valley folds and insertion tabs, allowing participants to quickly complete and take home their creation.

About Hinamatsuri

Every year on March 3rd, Hinamatsuri celebrates the healthy growth of girls. The history of Hinamatsuri is ancient, originating from a ritual where people made dolls from paper to serve as substitutes and floated them down rivers to ward off misfortune.

It is believed that Hinamatsuri was established during the Edo period, combining this tradition with "hiina asobi," a children's game similar to doll play or playing house that existed since the Heian period.
