Fujisan Apollo package

"Person 2" at Honyaplan bought Fujisan Apollo. (By the way, I'm #1)

Package Surface Treatment

We were discussing whether the varnish surface treatment avoided the product name area in the plate making, or if it was printed on top. The pattern plate is quite narrow, isn't it?

Which Side of Mt. Fuji?

Then we got to talking about whether this Mt. Fuji is from the Yamanashi side or the Shizuoka side. It doesn't say anything about being from Yamanashi or Shizuoka. I tried casually asking someone from Shizuoka.

The Osawa Landslide erosion seems too shallow for that, so maybe the theory is that it's finished to look neither side? Or it could be image footage of Yamanashi-side Mt. Fuji + tea fields, which is common in commercials. I see.

They also sent me a well-made image showing the Yamanashi side on the left and the Shizuoka side on the right.

  • The Yamanashi side is more rugged and mountain-like
  • The Shizuoka side is more sleek and feels the sea breeze

This Fujisan Apollo's Mt. Fuji looks more like Yamanashi.

Mt. Fuji Talk

After that, the Mt. Fuji talk continued. From the Gotemba direction, you can see the broad base with snow spreading out, the one on the 1000-yen bill is from Lake Motosu, and the view from Lake Kawaguchi is also good, etc.

Anyway, I learned that if you ask someone from Shizuoka about Mt. Fuji, a flood of Mt. Fuji information comes out, which is quite something. Or rather, in all these years of knowing this person, did I never once ask about Mt. Fuji? Or maybe I just wasn't listening.

Package side

However, the person from Shizuoka says they think Yamanashi people have stronger feelings about Mt. Fuji, so be careful when talking about Mt. Fuji. I see... is that so...

Characteristics of Yamanashi People

Yamanashi people—whether they're from the government office, printing companies, hot spring ladies you pass by, or elementary school teachers— every person I've met without exception, when you ask them something, they're all "people who give you detailed explanations all at once," so it's probably not just about Mt. Fuji... If you ask one person, you'll probably complete your information gathering...

The Answer is "Red Fuji"

By the way, when I looked inside the Fujisan Apollo package, it said the motif is Red Fuji.

Oh, I see.

Package inside

Come to think of it, at first glance, the surface treatment pattern looks the same as the purple laminated box pattern of Kikyou Shingen Mochi... (Unrelated, but if there's a part-time job manufacturing those boxes, I want to go)

I see~

Sorry for the fuss. But still, they write it on the inside, don't they?

Because it's Apollo

It's okay, this is Apollo after all, so originally the motif is about space.

Come to think of it, the person from Shizuoka said "it should be a photo from directly above."

Indeed...

By the way, the manufacturing location is Hokkaido.

Well then, that's all for today. Farewell.
