Hercules Beetle

About the Hercules Beetle
The Hercules beetle (scientific name: Dynastes hercules) is one of the world's largest beetles, inhabiting Central and South America. Males can reach up to 180mm in body length, characterized by two large horns extending from the head and thorax.
The body color varies from yellowish-brown to blackish-brown and is known to change color depending on humidity. Named after the Greek mythological hero Heracles due to its powerful appearance and massive horns, it is highly popular as an insect specimen and one of children's most admired insects.
