Popikko Insect Sumo

About Popikko
"Popikko" is a series of early childhood education materials for ages 2-6 published by the Japan Association for Home Education Research. It offers age-specific courses: "Momo-chan (ages 2-3)," "Kiidori (nursery school)," "Akadori (kindergarten first year)," and "Aodori (kindergarten second year)."
Each month, a set including picture books, craft materials, and parent guides is delivered, designed for fun learning at home. The craft materials are particularly notable for content appropriate to early childhood developmental stages, including finger training using scissors and glue, and social development through pretend play.
About This Material
"Insect Sumo" is an educational material for sumo play using insect characters. By tapping the ring, the insects move, and the one that falls or exits the ring first loses—a simple rule that makes it enjoyable.
Through play, children can learn social skills such as following rules and accepting winning and losing. It also fosters interest in insects.
