Christchurch Cathedral

About the Building
Christchurch Cathedral was an Anglican cathedral located in the center of Christchurch, South Island, New Zealand. Built between 1864 and 1904 in Gothic Revival style, it was characterized by a 63-meter-tall spire.
The design was undertaken by British architect George Gilbert Scott. The exterior, combining white limestone and gray basalt, was long cherished as a symbol of Christchurch.
On February 22, 2011, the Canterbury earthquake (magnitude 6.3) caused severe damage, including the collapse of the north spire. Subsequently, restoration and reconstruction were abandoned, and demolition was decided. This papercraft serves as a valuable record of the cathedral's lost appearance.
